We are hiring for the position of Risk and Compliance Manager (BPO Credit Card Collections) with full time working hours for our company office, EXLService Philippines, Inc., for residents of Muntinlupa City and its neighboring areas.

Basic Functions

The Compliance Manager will be part of the management support concentrated mainly on activities involving compliance requirements for a Financial/ Bank account.

·      Service Levels– as per agreed KPI’s

·      Attrition and absenteeism – as per agreed KPI’s

·      Quality and productivity Improvement – as per agreed KPI’s

·      Customer Satisfaction – as per agreed KPI’s

·      Level of subject matter expertise – as per agreed KPI’s

Any other essential function that may occur from time to time as directed by the management   

Roles/Responsibility 

  • Participating in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class consumer collections compliance program, standard operating procedures, best practices and training and monitoring adherence to the foregoing.
  • Investigating and assisting in responses to compliance risk issues, regulatory inquiries, making recommendations to senior management/clients on responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Keeping abreast of legal and regulatory changes in US consumer protection laws to identify and mitigate key risk areas
  • Supervise debt collectors and ensure that collectors are trained on US consumer protection laws applicable to B2C collection.
  • Assist debt collectors with answering debtor inquiries, negotiating settlements, performing skip tracing and other operational questions.
  • Interacting and working with other areas within the organization and with clients, as necessary.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations and applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

Graduate in any stream preferred or equivalent experience  

Work Experience Requirements

·      Substantial experience as a consumer debt collector with at least 3 years of hands on experience in a supervisory capacity over US consumer collections operations is a must. Ideally, such experience involves consumer debt collection conducted by offshore firms

·      Has substantial experience and knowledge in US consumer collections processes, FDCPA and other consumer protection laws is a must

·      Knowledge of civil or criminal US legal proceedings instituted against debt collectors is a must

·      Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and operate independently with limited level of direct supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
