The National Food Authority Region VIII (NFA-VIII), a government-owned and -controlled corporation, is tasked with regulating the agricultural sector in the Philippines. It seeks to ensure equitable and affordable access to safe and reliable food supply for all Filipinos. As part of the Department of Agriculture, NFA Region VIII is responsible for the procurement, management, and distribution of domestic food staples including rice, maize, root crops, pulses, and grains. The agency plays an important role in the stabilization of prices and maintenance of adequate food security in the country. NFA-VIII also monitors the development of new technologies in food security and its efficient and effective application to benefit the Filipino people.
